Master Craftsman of Buddhist Statue, Watanabe Souun

1957 Born in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. Real name:Toshiyasu
1977 Aspired to be a sculptor as the second generation of wood engraver Watanabe Souun.
1977

Entered Tokyo Zoukei University of Art and Design sculpture department.

Studied in Hirakushi Dencyu Wooden Sculpture Research Institute.

Studied under Mr. Ito Reitaro.

(Member of association of new production. Senior Visiting Professor of Tokyo Zoukei University. The Kushigi carving Institute staff member))

Graduated from Tokyo Zoukei University.

Studied under Mr. Shinkai Tokutaro.

Studied under Mr. Somekawa Eisuke.
